Craving a cool treat on a summer’s day, I went to the Lindt Chocolat Cafe in Shibuya.
Lindt is a premium brand of chocolate products created by the Swiss chocolate giants Lindt & Sprüngli.
They are best known for the Lindor truffle, a hard chocolate shell filled with the most delectably smooth chocolate filling.
I first tried the Lindor in Japan, and ever since then, I have been hooked on their products.
So far, Lindt has only expanded branches of their exclusive chocolate café in Australia, America, and Japan.
Especially in the Japan Chocolat Cafés, one can indulge in exclusive products not part of the Lindt standard assortment of goods like Lindt ice cream, Lindt cake, and Lindt mocha.
One may also find the counter displaying macaroons of various flavors and premium truffles.
I had to practice a lot of self-control when I entered the store!
I ended up purchasing the Lindt soft serve chocolate ice cream in dark chocolate.
The dessert was expertly created and served in a dainty plastic cup.
Patrons of the Shibuya Lindt Café can then go upstairs to the 2nd and 3rd floors to enjoy the view and delicious dessert.
I thought that the almond crunch paired very well with the thick and creamy soft serve, while the biscuit crunch below added an interesting texture to the experience.
There are other branches of Lindt Chocolat Café in Tokyo – Jiyugaoka, Omotesando, Kichijouji and Ginza – but my favorite is Shibuya because of its large windows and the fact that you can people-watch while you enjoy your dessert.
However, if you have the chance, do visit at least one while you are here in Japan!
