How to Eat Warabimochi

Have you heard of “warabimochi”?

Warabimochi is a type of mochi that’s traditionally made using bracken starch.

This is a souvenir I got from a friend of mine that just went on a trip to Kyoto.

On today’s article, I am going to teach you guys how to eat the warabimochi properly.

1. So here’s the inside.

The warabimochi itself, a kinako (soy bean) flour, plastic knife, and bamboo pick (which is also plastic)

2. Open the seal of the warabimochi. 

Looks really good, right? 
Must be so tasty.

3. This part here is optional.
You can either put the kinako on top of the mochi, or use a small plate.
I suggest you guys to put the kinako on another saucer first. 
Why?
Some of you might not like the taste or the smell of the powder.
It’s fine for me, the kinako has no taste, and smells like peanuts crushed.

4. Using the plastic knife, cut the warabimochi into small pieces.
If you’re having trouble cutting it, you can use real knifes instead.

5. Using the plastic toothpick, stab a piece of warabimochi you cut before and smear it with the kinako powder.

6. This is the fun part. 
Putting the mochi into your mouth :D
