Japanese traditional fried fish: Aji Fry!

Fried dishes are very popular in Japan and you can find a huge variety of delicious things.


Here is the most famous fried fish dish in Japan : “Aji fry”, fried horse-mackerel.


You can find it in many restaurant in Japan as a menu  “aji fry teishoku”.


Let’s see what is it about!

Here is a “aji fry” menu.



In the middle you have 2 fried horse mackerel, then a bowl of rice, a miso soup and some pickles.

Fried fish is generally served with some lemon. 


Your can also put some karashi (japanese mustard) on it, or soy sauce. 


Some people eat it with sweet sauce as well.



The fish is served hot.


It’s crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.


Yummy !



As you can see, there’s shredded cabbage served as a salada under the fish.
