Hidden in Kanda area, Ace coffee is a super old coffee shop which invented a very mysterious snack called “Nori toast”. What?! A toast with seaweed?! In a coffee shop?!

Ace coffee is an institution in Kanda area.
Since 1971, Ace coffee serves coffee drinks made from beans more than 40 coffee beans varieties from all over the world.
But the main attraction is the “Nori toast” created here.
Inside toasted bread slices are filled with a thin layer of butter and soy, and a piece of “Nori”, the same seaweed used for maki sushi.
The most surprising thing is the combination is absolutely delicious!
The savory taste of the Nori.
And it’s really cheap at only 140 yen!
There’s also other things to eat like club sandwiches made with roast beef slices.
For those with a sweet tooth, items such as homemade donuts topped with butter, and choco toast or coffee jelly are available.
The inside of the shop looks well… retro since it probably hasn’t changed since its original opening. But this retro look is one of the popular points of the place as well as the taste of coffee and food.
