Oita Fragrance museum was established to celebrate 100 years since the establishment of Beppu University.
Now, it becomes the centre of fragrance collection ranging from Japan to the world
1st floor, Fragrance Product Gallery

As soon as I put one step inside, the unique smell of fragrances variety are spreading all over this floor, it transform to some kind of peculiar refreshing smell that make me feel really comfortable to enjoy strolling around the exhibition area.
There are several exhibition section on this floor, and the very first section that you will see in front of your eyes is the beautiful wide variety of perfume bottle inside a huge cabinet, reflecting the luxury behind each of these collection to the visitor.

It seems the museum owner is paying special tribute for the legendary world famous perfume bottle designer Pierre Dinand, because one exhibition section on this floor is dedicated only for the collection of perfume bottle designed by Pierre Dinand.

Fragrance factory section, It brings the visitor to another perspective on perfume industry by introducing every single process behind a bottle of perfume.

I found one cabinet that display the FIFI award-winning corner, simply put the most prestigious award in fragrance industry.
I noticed one of the collection inside this FIFI award-winning section is actually Japan famous Harajyuku lovers perfume which is the biggest hits among Japanese girl because of its cute design.
2nd Floor, Fragrance History Gallery

It is like a time machine for the visitor.
It brings the visitor back to discover the rich history of fragrance as a part of human civilization culture throughout time, the display is structured according to periods ranging from ancient Egypt to art Deco.

Amazing display room for Rocco period, the full room design and decoration succeed to create an immersive experience that could throw us back to the late baroque period in 18th century when artistic style movement started to immerse.
3rd floor, Experience and healing gallery

The last floor of this museum mainly serves for workshop hall to the visitor such as meeting hall, perfumery experience craft centre, and also one of the most famous part of the third floor which is called aroma room where we can relax our body and our mind to enjoy the healing experience of aromatherapy fragrance.
Even though it might seems that a bottle of perfume is not more than a necessity item in our daily basis, this museum could made me realized there is cultural background and long lasting history behind every fragrance.
