How much you like meat? Do you like to travel to Japan? Do you like festivals? If the answer are “Yes” to those questions, then I suggest that you plan your next holiday here in Tokyo, for this Niku Festival (Meat Festival) Odaiba. Why? Because, these are the dishes that are waiting for you!
Niku Festival is a festival which gather all the best meat available in Japan. It saves your time. It is a place, as all MEAT comes to you. Imagine that you need to visit here and there to find the best meat in Japan! You can find beef, pork, chicken in all forms that you could, and even couldn’t imagine.
(1) Roasted duck meat that smells and tastes good
If you like duck meat, then you should try this. It is prepared by the PINETALE2990 from Shinjuku (Please note that most of the booths here has actual physical restaurant that you visit. Some are as near as Shinagawa, but some are as far as Hokkaido or Wakayama). This roasted duck meat is served with red-wine-based sauce and topped with onion. Just by looking at the meat, you know it is delicious!
(2) Eat the beef, the sushi style
This beef is just fresh enough to be eaten raw. The surface is slightly grilled with burner, so it has good smell. What is special about this dish is the “sushi” style. It is one of the most delicious dish I had in this festival.
(3) The pork spare ribs, tender until the knife is not needed
The pork rib cooked by the SHUTTERS from Jiyugaoka, Tokyo. The shop at Jiyugaoka is always crowded with customers as it has good review. Considering the time to travel to Jiyugaoka and the time to lineup at the restaurant, it is worth it even to lineup for an hour for this dish.
(4) The Chinese steamed dumpling, Xiaolongbao
This is provided by the famous restaurant originally from Taiwan, the Jing Ding Rou (京鼎樓).
(5) The beef hamburg steak, the meat with unexpectable tenderness.
For meat lover, it is irresistible to not buy this hamburg steak. Even though this shop usually has the longest line queue in front for the booth, we still wait in the line preparing our saliva while smelling it.

(6) The fruit beer, the best beer with meat
It is a festival, with some nice beer and dessert too. Prepared by the “Hokkaido Brewing”, you can enjoy the testing set with 4 flavors. Most of the types that we tried were fruity like fruit juice. Just don’t forget that it makes you drunk too.
(7) The nice beer truck, with nice beer.
(bonus) An ice cream wrapped by crape and topped with brunt cream
「デザートは別腹 (deza-to wa betsu-bara)」is a phrase Japanese always say when they want to find an excuse to eat sweet. 「デザートは別腹」means “I am full now, but I can still eat dessert as it will go into different part of the stomach”
GUNDAM, Haneda Airport, are near too
Anyway, it is a place easy to access (only 30 minutes from Haneda Airport or from Tokyo Station by train). You can also drop by here, if you are coming to Odaiba to see the 20 meters Unicorn Gundam, or to see the so called “Statue of Liberty”, or to experience the Initial D racing car simulators etc. Check out the schedule for this festival next year!
