[The Holy Land of Detective Conan] Hokuei Town in Tottori, a place full of Conan!

Tottori Prefecture is famous of its sand dunes. Recently, as beautiful starry night sky can be seen here, it has become a hot topic as the prefecture of starry night sky.

And this Tottori Prefecture, is in fact the birthplace of the writer of the very famous manga “Detective Conan”, Gosho Aoyama, and is well known among the fans.

Now this place which is related to the write of Conon, is crowded with tourists who are here for Conan.

At Hokuei Town, the birthplace of Conan, there is a Conan Street which is full of the characters’ bronze statues, manholes, stone monuments, etc. By strolling at Conan Street, one can easily enjoy the “Conan sightseeing”.

As I have just visited this holy land of Conan, let’s me introduce along with the photos.

Hokuei Town, Conan’s birthplace is…

Hokuei Town is the hometown of the writer, Gosho Aoyama.

Conan Station is about 50 minutes away by train from Tottori Station. It takes roughly 1 hour by car.

Gosho Aoyama Manga Factory

In front of the manga factory, there is the car of Dr. Agasa, the inventor in the manga. And who has made this car? It is the writer’s father. In fact, Aoyama’s family seems to be engaged in car-related work, and it is said that this car can actually run on the road!

The Detective Boys (or The Junior Detective League) in front of the manga factory. They are the members who possess the powers of action and reasoning that are above what can be thought of as a kid.

The glowing Conan’s welcome you. The same objects can also be found at Conan Street.

There are also exhibitions of Gosho Aoyama’s early life and other works.

A replica of the office of Gosho Aoyama, where he worked.

The manga is sold worldwide. Especially in Europe and Asia, it is sold the most.

The corner which exhibits the invention of Dr. Agasa.

One can try imagining the items. The answers are behind the door.

The Voice-Changing Bowtie. By turning the dial, one can raise or lower the tone of one’s voices.

It is quite fun to imitate Conan. For example, “Baro” or “Ran-neechan”,

You can also try the simulated experience running through the Conan Street on a skateboard.

The speed can be increased or decreased by pressing or releasing a button. This attraction is also popular among the small kids.

There are all about the 1st floor. Next is to go to the 2nd floor via stairs.

Just after entering the 2nd floor, there is a mini game of quiz about Gosho Aoyama’s works (cult quizzes, puzzles, concentration games) at the left side.

If you are confident of your reasoning ability and memory, please have a try!

Conan Street (Gosho Aoyama Manga Factory ~ Beika Shopping Street)

Conan Street is the 1.4 km street starting from the Gosho Aoyama Manga Factory to Conan Station, and bronze statues of Conan and other characters, manholes, and stone monuments are placed along the street.

Look, the sleeping Kogoro-san spotted on the street from the Manga Factory to Beika Shopping Street. Let’s take a photo like this!

When taking this photo, it is important to pose like you have lost your energy due to the injection of anesthesia at the neck.

The manholes at Conan Street are all with the illustration of Conan.

The manga’s covers are used for the design of the stone monuments. At Conan Street, Volume 1 to Volume 28 are being displayed.

A bronze statue of Shinichi doing kabe-don. There should be quite a lot of fans who want to be treated like this.

Trick art

This is a trick art of Conan.

Conan is riding a camel, and it will look like a 3D in photos.

It is fun to take photos riding on the camel.

There is a plan to increase the bronze statues at Conan Street in the future, so you will be able to further enjoy a Conan trip.

Let’s go there together with your friends, family or your lover!!
