A drive to Mt. Fuji at dusk with a greatly improved Honda compact model, the “Fit”!

Honda

There is a compact car called Honda “Fit” in Japan. A special car only in Japan? No, it is also sold in the Asian market. With the name of ‘JAZZ’! The Fit has undergone a major improvement this summer. The welding part of the car body is made stronger which increase its strength, more comfort ride and maneuverability is dramatically improved too. In addition, the interior noise was lowered, so family members and friends can converse in a lower voice during drive. I went to see Mt. Fuji which represents Japan using this new hybrid model “Fit”.

High power, low fuel consumption. Better drive and ride

Honda

Let me explain a little about the Fit Hybrid. The current model is the 3rd generation which was introduced in 2013. It features a proprietary hybrid system that combines high power of 137HP with low fuel consumption. The test drive was a new type which was greatly improved in June 2017 this year and it’s a sporty grade “HYBRID S”. It is equipped with a large roof spoiler, a 16” diameter of wheel and so on.

Powerful, comfortable-ride car

Powerful, comfortable-ride car

After an actual ride, I felt that the powerfulness was best one even when compared with a hybrid car of the same class. Furthermore, the car body and suspension that had undergone a major improvement were very good, and I was able to drive safely even on curvy mountain roads. It was one of the comfort rides in compact car category.

Watching Mt Fuji at dusk from a rare spot

Watching Mt Fuji

I went to a place called Misaka Pass in the mountains of Yamanashi with Fit Hybrid. To see Mt Fuji. Mt Fuji is the most famous mountain in Japan, but in reality, it looks quite different when I look from different direction. There are several secret places where ‘Mt Fuji seen from here is wonderful!’, but it is often quite controversial which scenery is the best. This time, Mt Fuji view from Misaka Pass is the flat part of the summit is short and the mountain foot looks bilaterally symmetrical towards both sides.

Watching Mt Fuji at a slightly different angle than usual

Watching Mt Fuji

Please have a look at the photo. Do you see the shape is quite different from the Mt Fuji we often see on tour guide book? It’s easier to go to such a secret viewpoint if it is a car with performance like Fit Hybrid.
