Hiroshima Antenna Shop – Little Hiroshima (広島) at Ginza (銀座), Tokyo

Hiroshima antenna shop is, to be honest, the best antenna shop that I’ve seen so far. It is located in Ginza, the most expensive area in Japan. Above that, it has 4 floors, every floor of which is well designed. Hiroshima prefecture is well represented by the shop.

On the first floor, you can see all kinds of products from Hiroshima prefecture. A variety of well-organized food products are ready on the shelves. Staff members will disclose every month a list showing the popularity of those products.

The best selling product of June, 2017 at Hiroshima antenna shop.

You may wonder what is in the photo. Indeed, it is a kind of jelly called Hassaku orange. Hassaku oranges are oranges from Innoshima, Hiroshima. Though slightly sourer and bitterer than others, Hassaku orange is nevertheless fresh and tasty. After placing the jelly into the refrigerator for some time, it will be one of the best desserts in the summer.

The product ranked second is a sweet Japanese bun (as shown in the above picture). When you unwrap it, you will see each star-shaped buns with a flavour of red bean, green tea and tangerine, all of which taste excellent.

The fried fish paste (as you may see in the picture above) ranks the third. Believe me or not, this is actually super delicious. You can eat it as is, or you can heat it before. The taste may resemble that of fried chicken or smoked ham, but it is more chewy. You can also bake it in the oven for a couple minutes to give it some crisp.

The product that is listed as the fourth most popular item in store is the lemon flavoured fried chicken skin. I recommend you to try it because it is a great match with beer, with the perfect balance of saltiness and sourness . It doesn’t matter whether you like beer or not, you can still try this yummy snack alone.

You can find a café on the same floor which offers authentic Hiroshima food . They serve Hiroshima style ramen as well as ice-cream flavours that are only available in Hiroshima.

On the second floor, you can find merchandise related to Hiroshima’s baseball team, Hiroshima Toyo Carp. If you are a fan of the Carp, this would be the must-go spot for you.

There is another restaurant on the second floor, selling Hiroshima Okonomiyaki. Hiroshima Okonomiyaki is different from the Kansai version, with more noodles and vegetables in the former. Other than that, the sauce is different too. You can try authentic Hiroshima Okonomiyaki directly there.

A tourist information corner with a lot of travel guides about Hiroshima is available. You can feel free to take any and read.

This is a temporary shop on the second floor called “KUMANOFUDE” and which is famous for its craftsmanship of pen. You can find not only normal pens for writing, but also those used for make-ups, too.

The stunning liquor collection at Hiroshima antenna store can be found here, with all kinds of liquor on display and ready for sales. There is a bar behind, where you can buy drinks by glass and try out different taste.

On the third floor, there is a restaurant called MERI Principessa, specializing in Hiroshima-styled Italian food. Indeed, all ingredients are from Hiroshima.

On the basement floor, you can find Ochi Kochi, a Japanese food restaurant, specializing in seafood cuisines, with all the fish freshly delivered from Hiroshima. If you want to go to this restaurant, you should enter through the entrance at the other side of the building.

If you want to find something special from Hiroshima, perhaps authentic Hiroshima food; or you simply just want to know more about Hiroshima, you can do them all at the Hiroshima antenna shop.
