Eating Japanese Yen

Hi, Navio here.
Guess what I’m eating in the image above...It looks like… toasted Japanese bills?!

There are 3 kinds of bills that you can eat!
¥1,000
¥5,000
¥10,000

That’s ¥1,000 in my mouth, and in my hands.

Anyways, do you have any idea what they are?
Something edible for sure.

First, let me introduce you to the place where you can purchase these cool snacks. I bought these at Bank of Japan, the central bank of Japan.
It’s headquarter is located in Chuo-ku, Tokyo. The closest station is 三越前駅 (Mitsukoshimae Station) I went there for a museum trip with some of my colleagues.

This awesome souvenir is called お札せんべい (Osatsu senbei). Yes, they’re senbei、Japanese crackers.
You can purchase them at the entrance of the museum.

How does it taste, you say? One thing you want to keep in mind is that these senbei are the “sweet-type” as opposed to the salty soy-sauce based ones. It has a very mild sweetness along with the crunchiness from the texture, it’s delicious!

And the details on the bill is really precise. You can compare it with your real money!

Eating Japanese Yen

A set of 6 Japanese Yen bills cost ¥380 (tax included), and I got to eat a total of
¥10,000x2 = 20,000
¥5,000x2 = 10,000
¥1,000x2 = 2,000
----------------------------+
TOTAL : ¥32,000

Totally worth it, hahaha. :D
