Sapporo TV tower
I know this tower looks like Tokyo tower, however, It is Sapporo TV tower. It was built in 1957 by Tachu Naito who is famous Japanese architect has designed the Tokyo tower.
Actually, the best sightseeing spot in Hokkaido is Sapporo TV tower, very well known as landmark of Sapporo. It is located the edge of Odori park so you can see all different beautiful four season view in Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter. And also there are some events around Sapporo TV tower, you can also enjoy the landscape from the tower. Furthermore, not only events or Odori park, when weather is amazing, you can see over the park with snow mountain and sea of Japan from the top as well!

There are some taller buildings than Sapporo TV tower, however, this amazing view is only from Sapporo TV tower. You are able to see Christmas trees illumination with Ice statues in Ice, the best view!!.
The observation deck is the best place to see seasonal event such as the snow festival with park’s illumination and Yosakoi Soran festival from the top.
I will tell you one secret about the tower…There is also one of secret place for couple. There is special deck for couple, available to rent out the deck for 30 mins after the Tower closes. This is popular among couples, and you should book in advance.

The tower was also the background of famous movie by Thailand director Banjong. The movie shows all attractions of Sapporo. ① JR Tower
JR tower is the tallest building in Sapporo、directly connected with Sapporo JR station.38th floor is the observation floor where you can see 360 degree panorama view. You can also enjoy ice cream.
② Village Vanguard
The concept of the store is “a playful bookstore”. The store is filled with books and various products that express the youth culture in Japan.
③ TV Tower☆
I has great view of the entire park! In the movie, there is one shot from the observatory which shows a top view of the show festival. You can also find the stamp used in the movie. Why don’t you try it for yourself?
④ TANUKI STREET
This is a popular shopping street, a home to about 200 various stores, souvenir shops and restaurants. The street is divided into 7 blocks. You can enjoy here Gacha-Gacha, and UFO catcher games.
⑤ Sapporo Snow Festival
This festival is the largest event! Fanday is the first foreign movie to shoot the festival. Festival will be held from 6th to 12th February 2017.
⑥ Hakuritabai Hanbey restaurant
This restaurant is a retro-Japan-themed pub located only one-minute from Susukino Subway station. You can try Yakisoba is available.
⑦ Nagoyaka Tei
This is located in Hassamu AEAON mall. Local people love the place, because of freshness of the seafood they serve. The price is reasonable!

TV DAD
There are also one hidden attractions in tower. It is called “TV Dad” unofficial cute character, but very popular one more than official character “Tawakky”. You are able to TV Dad everywhere in the tower at sky shop. In the beginning of year, Japanese people try the lucky box “ Omikuji”. You can get a fortune advice paper when you put one coin in Omikuji box. The fortune paper will say if you are supper lucky, lucky or unlucky!! Omikuji has some power to make your luck!? Believe or not. Your choice!!
Sapporo in Winter
In my opinion, It is definitely good choice if you go to Sapporo in Winter. Smooth snow, Christmas illumination, beautiful light view from the Sapporo TV tower!
