Living in Tokyo is kind of like I am living in the world of TV drama or movies. There are a lot of places you have ever seen in TV screen. I would like to introduce some places that you might have seen in some TV dramas.
Needless to say, this place can be seen a lot of Japanese TV drama and movies. The pictures below were taken at Shiba Park No. 4 that is close to Onarimon Station. Just walking around Shiba Parks and Tokyo Tower, you will find a lot of spots that you might have seen in TV drama and movies including very popular dramas such as “101st propose(101回目のプロポーズ)” of Tetsuya Takeda or “Long Vacation(ロングバケーション)” of Takuya Kimura.
Todoroki Keikoku used as a filming location in “WOMAN” of Hikari Mashima and “Kazoku no Katachi(家族ノカタチ)” of Shingo Katori. It is 5-minute walk from Todoroki Station. One you step in to the valley you cannot believe you are in Tokyo and at the end of the valley, there is Todoroki Fudo Temple. This valley is not only used as a location of drama filming but also used as a photo shooting spot.
Toyosu Park is in front of Toyosu Station of Yurakucho line ot Yurikamome line. “HOPE”, “Kazoku no Katachi”, “Dame na Watashi ni Koi Shitekudasai (ダメな私に恋してください)” of Kyoko Fukada. It is next to a shopping mall Lalaport Toyosu so before or after shopping you can just stop by this park and relax watching the beautiful sunset.
Kamata is the suburb of Tokyo and next to Kanagawa prefecture. The roof top park called Kamata-En(かまたえん) of Tokyu Plaza in Kamata was in ”Bara no Nai Hanaya(薔薇のない花や)” of Shingo Katori and “I’m Home(アイムホーム)” of Takuya Kimura. Kamata-En have a tiny colorful Ferris wheel that is the one and only roof-top Ferris wheel in Tokyo.
The shopping street in front of Kamata Station called SunRise is also used in “I’m Home” and “99.9” of Jun Matsumoto. Around this area there are a lot of Izakayas and you can feel people’s daily life.
Ramen Restaurant TORA
2 stops from Kamata there is a small ramen restaurant Tora. Many dramas were filmed at this place including “SPEC” of Erika Toda, “Tsuki no Koibito(月の恋人)” of Takuya Kimura and “Specialist(スペシャリスト)” of Tsuyoshi Kusanagi. On the walls of the restaurant, there are a lot of autographs of celebrities displayed. You should taste the dumplings there that were used in those dramas too. They are really yummy and juicy.
