In Japanese, airport is Kuukou (空港)
It is made from two kanji, kuu (空) which means air or sky and kou (港) which means harbor. Here, you can understand kuukou as a harbor that contains means of transportation that flying to the sky.
Kuukou (airport) here is airfield that to be used for public.
There are five international airports in Japan. Narita Kuukou (成田空港) Narita and Haneda Kuukou (羽田空港) in Kanto area , Chuubu Kokusai Kuukou (中部国際空港) in Chuubu area, Kansai Kokusai Kuukou (関西国際空港) and 大阪国際空港(Osaka Kokusai Kuukou)or Itami Kuukou (伊丹空港) in Kansai area. Narita International Airport is most well-known airport among foreign visitors. In Japanese airport, you can enjoy modern facilities. Courteous airport staff will also help you. The airport is comfortable place to spend your time.
