JR Railways and Trains Museum Part 2: Touch, Sit and Feel the first Shinkansen!

For train lovers and children Ôme Railway Park is a must-see place near Tôkyô where you can even visit Japanese first Shinkansen train!

15 minutes walking from Ôme station, Ôme Railway Park is a place where you can discover and enjoy many things about Japanese train from the JR company.

We went last time in the building, today let’s go in the park itself.

Ôme Railway Park host many old locomotives from more than 100 years ago!

The old machines are so impressive by their size and old technology.

You can climb in those old steam locomotives and understand how it was working and the strength needed to made them work.

There’s also small train rides for children.

In the back of the park there’s the main attraction, a locomotive of the first model of Shinkansen. Here is a car from the Model 0 which was in service in 1969.

You can sit in the driver seat and go in the passenger area as well!

What a wonderful experience!
