Hey, everybody!
Today, I visited an event that anyone with a sweet-tooth is going to love: the “Salon du Chocolat”, the world’s biggest chocolate festival, originating from Paris, France!
Started in Paris in 1995, this is the festival’s thirteenth time in Japan.
It will visit seven locations across the country, including Kyoto, Nagoya, and Osaka, after kicking off in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
Starting this year, the Tokyo location has changed from Shinjuku Isetan to wider Shinjuku NS Building, and the festival is now bigger and better than ever before!
This year’s theme is “an homage to the future.”
Come on, let me show you around this wonderful world of chocolate!

As soon as you enter the exhibition hall, the atmosphere is feverish!
Pick up a pamphlet from the entrance and head to check out the shops that catch your eye!

Approximately 100 different brands, from 17 countries around the world, are all exhibiting here in Tokyo!
Shops that you don’t usually get the chance to see, shops run by talented M.O.F-winning chocolatiers (France's most prestigious craftsmen awards), shops making their first appearance at the festival—everything looks so intriguing!

There are lots of cutely-packaged chocolates that would make perfect gifts!
These are chocolates with a rose petal motif.

Some of the chocolates almost look too cute to eat!

Every single one of them is a work of art.

With this much choice available, it’s hard to pick.
There are plenty of desserts available to go, too, so you can take a break while enjoying a freshly-made dessert.
This is a “Crème Glacé Chocola” by Yoshinori Asami.

The combination of bitter chocolate and ever so slightly salty ice cream is just perfect!
There are also demonstrations by popular chocolatiers in the "event space," so if you time it right, you might even be able to get one of their signatures!

The whole exhibition hall is filled with blissful chocolates that’ll captivate both your mind and mouth!
