Soba noodles are famous Japanese food that is made from buckwheat flour.
It is popular among a lot of people here in japan and also overseas.
I am such a huge fan of soba myself.
It is not only for tasty, but also super healthy and good for you.

I heard there is a really good soba restaurant in Shinagawa that is even listed on Michelin Guide 2015.
It didn’t take me that much time to visit there.

From what I heard that it was on the Michelin Guide, I imagined it will be more fancy and hard for me to blend in, but no need to worry at all.
As I entered this place, felt a nice and warm atmosphere, just like an old-fashioned soba restaurant.

A little crowded because of the lunch time, but I was lucky enough to find a table.
I ordered kamo Nanban which is sauteed duck with green onion.
It is the most famous dish and recommended in this restaurant.
Also my favorite.

Soba noodles were thinner than I thought, but had a firm texture.
Scent of soba spreaded in my mouth as I slurped.
(It might sounds a bad manner to slurp, but it is the best way to eat soba.)
Ducks and onions that soaked up the soup was so tender.

Of course, I enjoyed Sobayu after I ate the whole bowl of soba.
Sobayu is the hot water that boiled the soba noodles.
At pretty much every soba restaurant, it comes to you when you are about to finish eating soba.
If not, don’t hesitate to ask.
Mix it with the soup.
Very tasty.

In a corner of their menu, I saw it said “ grinding flour in a stone mortar and striking noodles by hand upstairs in this building.
No wonder soba taste fresh and delicious.

This place definitely will be on my list to go to again!
