In Japan, craft beer has been on trend for a few years. There are numbers of microbreweries in Japan due to this boom. Depending on the breweries though many places are so hard to go without a car due to the location. However there are some breweries that have a taproom in Tokyo. If you ever wonder and want to have a nice cold glass of draft freshly brewed from a tap as the weather is getting perfect for one, you should try to go to one of them.
Yona Yona Beer Works

Yona Yona Beer Works is owned by Yo-Ho Brewing Company. As you might have been this beer regularly in some convenience store in Japan. Their craft beers are widely known throughout Japan. In their taproom, you can taste around 10 kinds of their craft beers such as Yona Yona Ale and Aooni India Pale Ale. In addition, some of their beers here are limited that you can only try in the taproom. If you go there, you should try their rotisserie chicken. They use premium date chicken and roast in a special order oven. The chicken is crispy outside and tender inside that pairs perfectly with their beer.
Baird Taproom
Baird Taproom is a taproom owned by Baird Beer, one of the leading craft beer companies in Japan. They have three locations inside of Tokyo, Nakameguro, Harajuku and Takadanobaba. Each taproom has different concept and menu and about 26 kinds of taps are available regularly. At the one in Nakameguro, you can enjoy hand crafted pizza in American style. The pizza has unique yet tasty toppings that goes great with their beers.

Rise & Win Brewing Co. Kamikatz Taproom Tokyo
Rise & Win Brewing is a microbrewery based in Kamikatsu, Tokushima prefecture. They have eight taps regularly and you can taste fresh beers here pairing with American style BBQ menus. The town, Kamikatsu is well known as a “zero-waste town” and Rise & Win Brewing Co. follows the vision of the town making beers without waste. Thus from the interior to the uniform of the taproom, they use recycled items with creative ideas.
Hitachino Brewing Lab
Hitachino Brewing Lab is located at Manseibashi mAAch, Akihabara. This taproom is owned by Hitachino Nest. Even if you have never heard of, you might notice from the owl character printed in their bottles. In this taproom, you can not only drink beers but also you can try brewing preparation here such as pulverizing hops and other ingredients. They have unique method to serve foods. All of their food serving there is packed in a recycled “one cup” sake bin. Each snack in a bin goes well with their beer.
