At Lake Kawaguchi, located at the foot of Mt. Fuji, fireworks light up during the annual Summer Festival.
This year, fireworks go off daily from August 2nd thru August 5th. On the last of the festival, a large fireworks show takes place at Lake Kawaguchi. It spans 1 hour and 15 minutes and lights up the sky in brilliant colors. With Mt. Fuji as the backdrop, the serene lake, and the fireworks reflecting off the lake – it’s an entirely majestic experience.
As with any Japanese festival, lots of yatai (food stalls) come out, and you can experience Japanese foods such as yakisoba or takoyaki.
Around Lake Kawaguchi there are many seasonal events that take place other than the summer festival. If you visit Japan, be sure to check it out!
