Located near Shikotsu, Toya National Park and Mt. Usu makes Lake Toya easy to locate, and it is one of the must-visit sightseeing places in Japan.

Moreover, it is a place surrounded by active volcanoes and hot spring resort, notably “The Windsor Hotel Toya Resort & Spa” where the 2008 G8 Summit was held.

There are four small islands in the middle of Lake Toya. The biggest one is Nakajima Island.

There are cruise rides around Lake Toya during April to October where you may be able to take a boat ride into the middle of Lake Toya to enjoy the fireworks.

If you were lucky enough you could see Mt.Yotei too! Crystal clear and serene water unfortunately is not for swimming.
