On the 3rd day, let’s go to Tsuruoka Castle from Sendai Station using express bus. This place is selected as one of the 100 popular spots of sakura viewing in Japan. The sakura view is superb! You can also enjoy the night sakura, where sakura is being lighted up at night.

We recommend Yunohama Onsen for tonight’s accommodation.

Let’s do sightseeing around Sakata the next morning. At Sakata, you must go to Somaro where you can see maiko. Here, at the teahouse from old times, you can enjoy the dance performances by the maiko while having your lunch. Before you leave, remember to take a photo with the maiko!

From Sakata Station, then head for Yamagata Station using express bus. Let’s go to Kajo Park, one of the famous spots for sakura viewing. You can also do night sakura viewing. The light-up starts in the evening.

Take the express bus from Sendai Station to Morioka Station, then transfer to JR train to go to Kakunodate Buke-Yashiki (Samurai Residence)! Kakunodate is also called as the Little Kyoto of Tohoku. The view of the historical buke-yashiki and the sakura tree-lined street is magnificent! Our recommendation is to try the dish “Okaribayaki”. This is a dish of chicken seasoned with peppers miso and that at old times, the dish was for the lords.

It is convenient to stay at around Morioka Station for the night.

The next day, let’s go to Aomori Station using express bus! Let’s visit the Nebuta House Warasse located in front of Aomori Station. Speaking of Tohoku festival, then it is Nebuta Festival!
