Recommended Shizuoka Antenna Shop
Shizuoka(静岡) is famous as a Japanese tea leaf producing area and also a production center of automobile companies represented by Yamaha and Suzuki. Also it is a home of Mt. Fuji. Shizuoka is not too far from Tokyo. It is only about one hour by Tokaido Shinkansen(東海道新幹線) Hikari or Kodama. However, Shizuoka prefecture is wide from the west to the east, so if you are interested in Shizuoka, you should stop by Shizuoka Travel Information Center in Tokyo Kotsu Kaikan(東京交通会館) in front of Yurakucho(有楽町) Station.

At Shizuoka Travel Information Center in Tokyo (Shizuoka Mt. Fuji Green-tea Plaza), not only you can get travel information, you also can find Shizuoka’s specialty and have some great tea of Shizuoka with some sweets.

Inside of the plaza is not that big, but is quiet enough for you to just relax and enjoy Shizuoka tea

Here is the menu. You can have up to 3 cups of tea at 300 yen and with a choice of sweets at 400 yen. You can choose 1 kind of tea and sweet out of 4 different kinds of tea and sweets . They also have green tea gelato and orange sorbet.

When you order tea, they would show you the samples of tea leaves and sweets picture.

You can brew up to 3 cups from one pot. I chose Kintsuba for my sweet that is sweetened red beans wrapped in wheat-flour dough. Not so sweet but it was so good with a bit bitter green tea. Interestingly I got 3 cups of tea from one pot, but tea from each pour tasted differently. First cup is mild, second is a bit bitter, and third is deep.

You can buy Unagi Pie at the plaza which is a famous souvenir of Shizuoka.

Of course, you can buy Shizuoka tea leaves and other Shizuoka souvenirs too.
Green tea yokan(sweet bean jelly)

Shizuoka is also famous for citrus so they also have citrus products.
