The Shiba Inu is a World Famous Japanese Dog
Shibainu is the best known dog breed in Japan. Probably many of you already know about Marutaro, the adorable shibainu that has drawn attention on social media and appeared in many TV commercials. Marutaro currently has 2.6 million followers on Instagram and he has his own studio! I had an opportunity to visit Marutaro studio. I could not meet the shibainu himself because of his packed schedule. He seems to be busier than most of us. Haha.. Let's explore what's inside the studio
"Shiba Inu Maru"
A cute photo that reads "Shiba Inu Maru" or Maru the Japanese Shiba displayed outside the store. Beside the entrance, there is also a gacha-gacha, a coin-operated capsule toy vending machine. I skiped this gacha-gacha and I went straight into the place because I was curious about what inside Marutaro studio would look like

Apparently, lots of photos of Marutaro ! There are posters, postcards, pins, file holders, key chains, his own biographical books. Wow! His pictures were displayed in many different poses and situations, such as when he was a baby, while he slept with his doll collections (octopus, polar bear, etc.), while wearing a Kumamon doll backpack (Kumamoto Province mascot), when he played with cherry blossoms, when he was surrounded by koi nobori (colorful carp banner celebrating children's day), and many others. I constantly mumbled "kawaiiiii ..." because it was really adorable to see the photos of Maru whose name means ‘round’.
Marutaro is about 10 years old now, quite old for a dog. but Maru always looks handsome, fluffy, and well groomed since the owner, Shinjiro Ono, takes good care of him
Through his Instagram account, we can see that Maru eats many things, from rice, meat, to fruits. Every night Ono would always upload Maru’s photos and videos before going to bed. Very cute! This certainly would warm the hearts of the fans. I came to Marutaro studio but he was not there, but it's okay, I took pictures with his Instagram board and hoped one day I could meet Maru in person.
In addition to the photos, Maru’s fans are also given the opportunity to take pictures with his pillow doll and tako (octopus) doll used on his pictures. Well, that soothed my heart a bit for not being able to meet the fluffy idol in person.
Satisfied with looking around Maru's studio, I rushed to the entrance where there were gacha-gacha that I mentioned earlier. I bought 3 capsules so that I could bring home as some souvenirs of Maru's face. And turned out inside there were
Maru’s key chain!! On the left is a picture of current Maru, the middle one is Maru while carrying a Kumamon backpack, and the right one is the Maru when he was a puppy. So cute and I was satisfied to get all three.
