"Jujutsu Kaisen" is a Japanese manga series written by Gege Akutami. It was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from March 2018 to September 2024. The series was adapted into a TV anime in 2020, captivating anime fans worldwide with its unique setting and compelling characters.

The story follows Yuji Itadori, who swallows a finger of the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna, leading to him sharing his body with the powerful curse. This drags him into the battle between Jujutsu Sorcerers and Cursed Spirits.

Choosing the path of a Jujutsu Sorcerer, Yuji enrolls at the Tokyo Jujutsu High, where he fights alongside his classmates like Megumi Fushiguro and his teacher, Satoru Gojo. As he faces numerous Cursed Spirits, he struggles with his mission and his own growth.

Harajuku Station is believed to be the model for the scene where Nobara Kugisaki makes her first appearance in Episode 3, "Girl of Steel." In this scene, Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro wait in front of the station to meet their new teammate at Tokyo Jujutsu High, Nobara Kugisaki.

The actual atmosphere of JR Harajuku Station is faithfully recreated in the anime, with the station's background design closely resembling its real-life counterpart.

In Episode 3, there is a scene where Nobara Kugisaki approaches a model scout on her own. The background of this scene faithfully recreates the real Takeshita Street, featuring fashion shops and colorful signs just like in real life.

Takeshita Street is a pedestrian-only street about 350 meters long, extending from the Takeshita Exit of Harajuku Station. Known as a center of Japanese pop culture and youth fashion, it attracts young people who are keen on the latest trends and unique styles.

(3) Near Columbia Sportswear Harajuku Store

In Episode 6, "After Rain," Nobara Kugisaki is seen wandering around Ura-Harajuku, yelling, "Where is Ura-Hara?! Underground?!" The location for this scene is near the Columbia Sportswear Harajuku store.

(4) Aoyama Cemetery

Aoyama Cemetery is briefly mentioned by Satoru Gojo in Episode 3 when he casually says, "There's a big cemetery nearby," before heading to Roppongi with Yuji and Megumi. It also serves as the meeting point for Mei Mei’s group (Mei Mei, Ui Ui, and Yuji Itadori) in the "Shibuya Incident" arc.

The real Aoyama Cemetery spans across Minato and Shibuya wards in Tokyo. While it is known as a famous haunted spot, it is also a popular place for cherry blossom viewing.

Incidentally, in the first season’s opening sequence, there is a scene where Grade 1 Sorcerer Kento Nanami is seen reading a book at a café. The model for this café is said to be "Nicolai Bergmann NOMU," located near Aoyama Cemetery.

(5) Tokyo Metro Meiji-Jingumae Station

Tokyo Metro Meiji-Jingumae Station serves as the setting for multiple key scenes in the "Shibuya Incident" arc. Near Exit 2, Mei Mei’s group arrives, and Yuji Itadori parts ways with them to take separate action. On Basement Level 2, Yuji encounters the Special Grade Cursed Spirit, "Kuchisaki GUY," leading to an intense battle. After defeating the curse on Basement Level 4, he reunites with Mei Mei and Ui Ui. Meanwhile, on Basement Level 5, Mahito begins moving through the station. Visiting this location allows you to relive the epic battle sequences from the anime.

(6) Shibuya Hikarie B3F

In Episode 32, "Shibuya Incident," the underground third floor of Shibuya Hikarie appears right after Satoru Gojo arrives in Shibuya. Here, he sees the crowd trapped by the "Curtain" and quickly realizes the enemy’s strategy. After assessing the situation, he heads down to Basement Level 5.

(7) Tokyo Metro Shibuya Station B5F (Fukutoshin Line Platform)

Upon reaching Basement Level 5, Satoru Gojo encounters Jogo, Hanami, and Choso, initiating a battle. This fight takes place on the Fukutoshin Line platform of Tokyo Metro Shibuya Station. Later, Suguru Geto appears and opens the "Prison Realm," sealing Gojo at this very location.

(8) Tokyo Metro Shibuya Station B4F (Inside Hikarie 1 Ticket Gate)

Descending from the Hikarie 1 ticket gate to Basement Level 4, Yuji Itadori confronts Choso in a fierce battle. This is one of the most intense fight scenes in the "Shibuya Incident" arc.

(9) Shibuya Mark City Passageway

In Episode 38, "Drifting," the battle between Naobito Zenin, Maki, Nanami, and Dagon unfolds in the passageway inside Shibuya Mark City. The background of this fight scene resembles the famous mural "Myth of Tomorrow" by Taro Okamoto, a well-known landmark in Shibuya.

(11) Kabukicho Intersection

In Episode 5, "Curse Womb Must Die - Part 2," there is a scene where Suguru Geto, a former classmate of Satoru Gojo, converses with Special Grade Cursed Spirits Jogo, Hanami, and Dagon. This scene takes place at the intersection of Yasukuni-dori and Kabukicho Sakura-dori in Shinjuku. The restaurant they later enter is believed to be modeled after a nearby Gusto.

Kabukicho, located in Shinjuku, is one of Tokyo’s most famous entertainment districts, known for its nightlife, restaurants, karaoke bars, clubs, and cinemas. While it’s a hub for nightlife, it is also a popular destination for tourists and business visitors.

(12) Omoide Yokocho (Near Shinjuku Station West Exit)

In the "Hidden Inventory / Premature Death" arc, the location where Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto last meet is modeled after Omoide Yokocho, near Shinjuku Station’s west exit.

The large public artwork "Shinjuku’s Eye," located near the west exit of Shinjuku Station, appears in the first season’s opening sequence of Jujutsu Kaisen as the background for Aoi Todo’s scene.

Created in 1969 by sculptor Yoshiko Miyashita, "Shinjuku’s Eye" features an elliptical glass mosaic and aluminum frame, resembling a massive eye. The artwork seems to watch over the countless people passing through Shinjuku every day.

The final scene of Episode 24, "Accomplices," features Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro accompanying Nobara Kugisaki on a shopping trip. This scene is set near the Shinjuku Sanchome East intersection, with a distant building resembling Mitsukoshi Isetan in the background.

(15) Kichijoji Plaza

In Episode 9, "Young Fish and Reverse Punishment," Junpei Yoshino, a friend of Yuji Itadori, witnesses an incident at a movie theater named "Kinema Cinema." The real-life model for this theater is believed to be Kichijoji Plaza. The exterior and ticket counter design in the anime closely resemble Kichijoji Plaza, making it widely recognized by fans as the inspiration for the setting.

(16) Kichijoji Batting Center

On the fourth floor of the building where the movie theater is located, there is a batting center. This is where Kento Nanami and Yuji Itadori battle a cursed spirit. In real life, Kichijoji Plaza also has a rooftop batting center, further enhancing its connection to the anime’s setting.

(17) Kichijoji Park Road Shopping Street

Kichijoji Park Road Shopping Street appears as the background in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1's opening, specifically in the scene where Mahito is introduced. The background features a sign reading "米□," which seems to reference a real izakaya named "米○" in this area. The shopping street is lined with various stores, restaurants, and cafés, making it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike.

In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1's opening, there is a scene where Panda is staring at a real panda. This scene is believed to be modeled after Ueno Zoo, which houses giant pandas.

In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1’s opening, Satoru Gojo is seen standing atop a tall tower, overlooking the cityscape. This tower is believed to be modeled after Tokyo Skytree (R).

Completed in 2012, Tokyo Skytree (R) is a 634-meter-tall broadcasting tower. From its observation decks, visitors can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of Tokyo, and on clear days, even see Mt.
