Universal Studios Japan is expanding its hugely popular "Super Nintendo World™" with a new area themed around the globally beloved "Donkey Kong." The grand opening of "Donkey Kong Country" is set for Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
On Wednesday, November 27, the park hosted a premiere pre-opening of "Donkey Kong Country." Specially invited guests excitedly passed through the newly unveiled tunnel entrance to the area, stepping into a world of thrilling wild adventures awaiting them.
About the Expansion of "Super Nintendo World"
Universal Studios Japan first opened "Super Nintendo World" in March 2021, quickly becoming a bustling attraction filled with daily excitement. To further enhance and deepen the guest experience, the park is expanding this popular area.
The new "Donkey Kong Country" area, themed around the iconic and globally popular "Donkey Kong," will make its world debut on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. With this expansion, the size of "Super Nintendo World" will increase by 1.7 times, significantly amplifying the appeal of the entire area.

Step into a lush jungle world where wild greenery grows thick and untamed!
In this jungle, where Donkey Kong and his friends live, you’ll embark on daring adventures like racing through mines on a thrilling minecart ride launched from the "Golden Temple" or trying out activities that use your whole body. Exciting food and merchandise, perfect for enjoying in the heart of the jungle, are also making their debut!
Get ready to awaken your playful instincts and fully immerse yourself in the amazing world of Donkey Kong!
New Ride Attraction: "Donkey Kong’s Crazy Minecart™"
Take off from the "Golden Temple" with a blast from a barrel cannon!
Hop aboard a minecart and race through the expansive jungle. Leap over broken tracks and brace yourself for one unpredictable moment after another. You won’t be able to hold back your screams of excitement! Join Donkey Kong and his crew as you dash through the jungle, protecting the Golden Banana from Tiki Tong, the leader of the Tiki Tribe. A wild adventure awaits!

Enhance your experience with plush toys of Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong, keychains, and grand opening commemorative T-shirts!
