Maison de Parfait Juzenjubi, which opened in January 2024, has become known for its luxurious parfaits and indulgent atmosphere. Exceeding expectations, the demand for its take-out sweets, such as the Juzen Financier and Original Gelato, has grown significantly, particularly among younger tourists.

By establishing the take-out division as a standalone brand, Juzen Bake now offers a wider selection of high-quality treats crafted by the pâtissiers at Juzenjubi. This move aims to provide the same luxurious quality at an affordable price, with an expanded range of baked goods and croissant-based treats.

Japan’s First Handheld Sweet: What Is Crojela?

The star item of Atami Kanmi Juzen Bake is the Salted Butter Caramelized Croissant & Gelato (nicknamed Crojela). Crojela is a buttery, caramelized croissant with a touch of salt from Izu Oshima, creating a delicious “Salted Butter Caramelized Croissant.” Topped with two scoops of homemade gelato, this handheld delight has been crafted for ease and style. Using a unique technique to hold the delicate croissant together, they’ve transformed a large croissant cut in half, much like an ice cream cone, filled generously with gelato.

The gelato options, made in-house with the same recipes as Juzenjubi, include staples like Tanna milk and French chocolate, along with unique rotating flavors such as rose and basil, offering four choices in total.

The signature ingredient of "Crojera" is the Salted Caramelized Butter Croissant. This unique pastry combines the flavors of caramel and sea salt from Izu Oshima, achieved through a special “layered butter method,” blending both French and Japanese butter. The result is an indulgent, rich croissant, finished with a hint of sweetness, making it an ideal "salted dessert."

Salted Canelé

Adding to the lineup at "Atami Kanmi Juzen Bake," the Salted Canelé has made its debut. Drawing inspiration from the oceanic setting of Atami, the pastry chefs at Juzen Jubi have crafted this exclusive "salted dessert" using sea salt from Izu Oshima, making it a truly unique treat. By adding these "salted sweets" to the Atami hot spring area, Juzen Bake offers visitors a one-of-a-kind flavor experience.

Juzen Jubi opened its doors on January 19, 2024, as Atami’s very first luxury parfait shop. This venture was launched by Furuya Ryokan, a historic inn founded in 1806, located in Tokai-cho. Since its opening, Juzen Jubi has drawn crowds daily, becoming popular on TV and social media alike. The second floor of the shop, known as the "Juzen Jubi Lab," is a dedicated sweets kitchen where artisans carefully craft and develop unique dessert creations.
