From August 2024, the commercial facility "Kyoto Porta" directly connected to Kyoto Station will undergo a major renewal of its souvenir zone "Omiyage Koji Kyo Komachi" and "Kyo Konomi," as well as its dining area "Porta Dining," with 15 new stores and 12 renovated or relocated stores, totaling 27 stores opening in stages.

At "Omiyage Koji Kyo Komachi" on the first floor of the station building, new stores such as "Kogetsu," a long-loved Kyoto confectionery known for its "Senju Senbei," and "KNOU," a new brand focusing on Kyoto-produced ingredients, will be opening. Existing stores will also update their display cases, creating a more convenient shopping experience for selecting souvenirs.

KOTOBUKIAN Co., Ltd., the company behind "Kyoto Veneto" and "Honke Yoshinaga," has launched a new brand that highlights the rich natural resources and traditional agriculture of Kyoto. The brand offers new sweets, such as "Maccoi®," a rich matcha confectionery made exclusively with tencha from Kyoto, including "Koicha Manju," and "Kyoto no Kome Chocolat," a crunchy chocolate featuring rice parfait made with Kyoto-grown special cultivation rice "Kyoshikibu."
