What is the hit manga "Detective Conan"? There are also episodes set in London!

"Detective Conan" (original work by Gosho Aoyama) started its serialization in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" in 1994, and the total number of comic books has exceeded 270 million, making it a huge hit manga. The protagonist, Conan Edogawa (Shinichi Kudo), admires Sherlock Holmes, a detective created by British novelist Conan Doyle, and episodes set in London also appear in the work.

In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the serialization of "Detective Conan" and the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the "London National Gallery" in 2024, the first installment of collaboration products of "Manga x Artwork", which combines the original illustrations of popular characters appearing in "Detective Conan" and world-famous paintings such as Van Gogh's "Sunflowers" and Monet's "Water Lily Pond" owned by the "London National Gallery", was released in January.

For our second collaboration, we are adding six new designs to the clear files, tote bags, T-shirts, and magnets that were sold in the first round! In response to the many requests for "something to decorate the room with", we are also releasing acrylic stands, postcard sets, and canvas art that feature all 13 designs. All of these are original designs from the "Sunday Premium SHOP".

Clear Files (6 new designs, 13 in total. Each priced at 550 yen including tax)

(1) "Heiji Hattori & Kazuha Toyama" × Claude Monet "Bathers at La Grenouillère"

Detective Conan London National Gallery Collaboration Item Clear File

The collaboration with "Heiji Hattori & Kazuha Toyama" is Claude Monet's "Bathers at La Grenouillère". This work depicts people enjoying leisure at the bathing spot "La Grenouillère" on the Seine River, about 12km west of Paris, which was popular as a weekend hideaway resort at the time. The design is heartwarming, overlaying illustrations of the amicable Heiji and Kazuha on the peaceful scene of families and lovers gathering at the resort.

(2) "Conan Edogawa & Heiji Hattori" x Claude Monet "Snow Scene at Argenteuil"

Detective Conan London National Gallery Collaboration Item Clear File

Argenteuil, a typical suburban city of Paris located just a short train ride from Paris along the Seine River, was a popular destination for boating enthusiasts on Sundays. In 1871, Monet moved to this area with his family. The design was inspired by the image of Conan and Heiji visiting the town of Argenteuil, which Monet painted covered in snow.

(3) "Edogawa Conan & Police Academy Group" × Akseli Gallen-Kallela "Lake Keitele"

Detective Conan London National Gallery Collaboration Item Clear File

The painting chosen for this product is a work by Akseli Gallen-Kallela, often referred to as Finland's national painter, depicting Finland's Keitele Lake. The ripples on the water surface, which occupy most of the screen, are a natural phenomenon caused by the interaction of wind and lake. However, it is said to imply the wake of the boat rowed by the hero Väinämöinen, the protagonist of Finland's national epic "Kalevala". We combined illustrations of Conan, worthy of the name "hero", and the Police Academy team.

(4) "Edogawa Conan & Wataru Takagi & Miwako Sato & Police Academy Team" × Henri Fantin-Latour "Basket of Roses"

Detective Conan London National Gallery Collaboration Item Clear File

Fantan Latour was a French painter who flourished in the 19th century. He is known for his still lifes of flowers and fruits, and is such a famous painter of roses that a variety of rose is named "Fantan Latour" after him.

Although the roses in this work seem to have been casually thrown into a wicker basket, they are artistically balanced and express the individuality of each flower. Overlaying this work with Conan and the Police Academy group surrounding Detectives Sato and Takagi, we have created a design that is full of unique and glamorous atmosphere.

(5) "The Detective Boys" × Pierre-Auguste Renoir "Landscape by the Lake"

The master Renoir, who has painted numerous images of children and women brimming with vitality and happiness in a soft and warm texture. This work is one of the landscape paintings painted by Renoir. It is known to be a landscape in the vicinity of Annecy, a town adjacent to a large lake in the southeastern part of France, but the exact location is not specified. It imagines a harmonious group of boy detectives who have found a beautiful lakeside that feels like a secret base, the location of which is unknown.

(6) "Shinichi Kudo" x Odilon Redon "Ophelia Surrounded by Flowers"

Detective Conan London National Gallery Collaboration Item Clear File

The painting chosen for this work is an image of Ophelia, a character from "Hamlet" by the British playwright Shakespeare. Artists of the time, including Redon, were fascinated by Shakespeare and often painted pictures based on his works. This work, with such a background, was combined with Kudo Shinichi, who admires the protagonist of the novel by the famous British novelist, Conan Doyle, "Sherlock Holmes".

The back side is a special design with the anniversary logos of "Detective Conan" and "London National Gallery" lined up, common to all types.
