[Special Issue: Mt.Fuji] The 3 Best Spots to Take photos of Mt. Fuji
※This article was published in February 2017※
There are many spots from which to take attractive photos of Mt. Fuji. The red pagoda is one of the most popular viewing spots among photographers and tourists alike looking to take attractive photos of Mt. Fuji. Photos taken from the observation deck encompass a perfect Japanese scene, with Mt. Fuji, a five-storied pagoda, and the city of Fujiyoshida all captured in one shot.
The views in the photos have different atmospheres depending on the season. Photos taken during the cherry blossom season and fall foliage season are particularly moving. The time of day you visit is especially important. If you go after noon, there will be a backlight, so we recommend visiting in the morning.
You must climb a long stairway of 400 steps to reach the observation deck! This is pretty good exercise, but for those who do not workout regularly, climbing the stairs might take sometime. But as you talk and climb, you will reach the top before you know it.
If you travel further on from the observation deck, there is another rest spot from which you have a sweeping view of Mt. Fuji. This takes less than five minutes to reach on foot. If you walk a little further beyond this rest spot, you will find a field of seasonal flowers awaiting you to enjoy. Don't give up!
We were told that few tourists venture beyond this field of flowers because the hills become more tiresome the more you walk.
