UNESCO world heritage site, Shirakawa-go

The small farming village of Shirakawa-go has been registered as a UNESCO world heritage site.
It is only a small village but it is famous all over the world.
The reason for this is that it is as beautiful as something from a fairy tale.
This world heritage site village is located in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture.
You can go there by bus or train or car and several of the steep rafter roof guest houses conveniently provide parking.

Winter is most popular, when the steep rafter roofs and the entire village are completely covered with bright white snow. There are illuminations in the evening in January and February, making the view of the village even more beautiful.
In other seasons, the deep-green grass is also attractive.
