Speaking of Mount Fuji, Kawaguchiko!! 

When people hear the word “Japan,” they often think of Mount Fuji. And if you want to see the beauty of Mount Fuji, the best place to go is Lake Kawaguchi.
Lake Kawaguchi is in Yamanashi Prefecture, and it is one of the Fuji 5 Lakes.
The Fuji 5 Lakes are Lake Kawaguchi, Lake Yamanaka, Lake Sai, Lake Motosu and Lake Shoji.
Lake Kawaguchi is the second largest, and the largest is Lake Yamanaka.

The Fuji 5 Lakes were formed by an eruption of Mount Fuji. After the eruption, lava flowed, snow melted and the lakes were formed.
Lake Kawaguchi is convenient to access for tourists.
You can go there by bus or by train from Tokyo Station to Kawaguchiko Station in about 1 hour 30 minutes.
There are lots of interesting places to see around the lake and there are hotels, resorts, onsen hot springs, a music box museum and the Oishi Park.
You can go on the Mt. Kachi-kachi Ropeway and look at the lake and Mount Fuji.

It is said that Mount Fuji is very shy, so there are not many days when you can see her very clearly.
It is a good idea to check the weather forecast before leaving for Lake Kawaguchi.

And if you come to Yamanashi Prefecture, there is a famous dish called Hoto noodles.
Hoto is Yamanashi Prefecture’s famous dish, consisting of thick, flat, hearty noodles, similar to udon noodles, made from flour, and cooked with various vegetables and flavored with miso.
If you try them once, I am sure you will be hooked!
