Of course the brand name Disneyland and Disneysea are the top two, but can you guess what has been picked for number three? And it is not even Universal Studio.
It is “Funabashi H.C. Andersen Park”.
I am born and raised here in Japan, but I’ve never even heard of the name. I was very curious to see what is so great about it and couldn’t resist to visit and see it for myself.

In the 36.7 hectare of the park, you can feel an atmosphere of Denmark here and there with something like unbelievably beautiful garden of seasonal flowers and a windmill. The park composed of 5 zones, including Kids Kingdom, Fairy Tale Hill, Children's Museum, Nature Experience and Castle of Flowers. These zones are very well organized and full of activities for kids at any ages.

Besides playgrounds, there are a big pond for kids to play in and petting zoo area.
Miniature golf course and mini railway, and pony back riding are also available and very popular. You can spend easily a whole day here, infact, one day might not be enough.
The park is located in Funabashi, Chiba, which took me about an hour and half from Tokyo by driving. It is pretty far, and you can’t say it is in the best location, but I definitely thought it was worth traveling for. Such an ideal park to spare time with your kids and family.
Plus, it is not crowded as Disneyland and Universal Studio.
