Penguins?
Where do they live?
Well, almost all of penguins live somewhere cold like Atlantica, New Zealand, or somewhere else. But, do you know there are actually penguins in Japan?!
Here is a video of the cute Penguins that I took last week!
Last week I went to an aquarium In Enoshima called Shin Ekoshima Suizokukan.
Now let’s learn a bit of Japanese!
Penguin in Japanese is called ペンギン PENGIN.
”ペンギンは寒い所に住んでいます”
“Pengin wa samui tokoro ni sunde imasu”
which simply means Penguin live in cold places.
Well Japan has 4 seasons...How can they survive during the summer?
Behind this glass is actually a twenty four seven full air conditioning space.
Because of this conditioning, it allows the penguin to survive and adapt living in Japan like living in their natural habitat.
This is the family tree of the penguins here in the aquarium..
For animals, saying the word male or female in Japanese are pronounced differently.
Male is called 雄(オス)Osu and
Female is called 雌(メス)Mesu.
As you can see in the family tree above, there are more females than males and that is why right now they are trying to breed this penguins to reproduce more!
