And guess what...this is actually a Japanese Traditional Game, that is usually played during New Year or Oshogatsu.

This game is called Fukuwara, or in English “Lucky Laugh”

At first there is this big piece of paper with a portrait in the center.

No nose, no mouth, no eyebrow, no eyes, no nothing.

What we need to do is put the eyebrows, eyes, nose and mouth to the correct place according to the small picture on the down right corner.

Do you see?

But is not that simple…

The hard thing is you have to be blindfolded and your friend will help you to place on the correct place by ordering you where to move and place that piece of paper in the right place.

And...at last the last piece will look like this and this is the lucky laugh!
Could you laugh like that too? ^^

Actually there are two people that may win this game is either you place the eyes, eyebrows and everything in the correct place, or if you make the funniest face that can make other people laugh.

There is this phrase that says “Warau kado ni wa fuku kitaru” which means that “Luck will come to the family that never stops to laugh” which is a wish that every family wants.
That’s why this game is usually played by family during the New Year Celebration.
