Every country has some “food obsessions” for diet or cooking.
Japan is all about vinegar.
Though, vinegar is common for cooking pickles or rice for sushi, but for a few years there’s been a craze of fruit vinegar diets.

Vinegar benefits are known all over the world, some countries likes apple cider vinegar, but many Asian countries, like Japan, are more into rice black vinegar.
You’ll find it usually in Chinese food sauce, but many women in Japan simply drink it since it’s supposed to help lose fat and get better skin. (Not sure of it though.)

The very sour taste might not please everybody so you can find fruit flavored vinegars.

You can drink it diluted with water and ice, or put in yogurt (it tastes really strange.)
Blueberry & pomegranate are also popular flavors.
Here is some grapefruit flavor vinegar syrup to put on ice-cream and yogurt or to drink with water.
In summer some convenience stores sells vinegar flavored soda drinks.
If you have a weak stomach or weak teeth, be careful not to drink it too much.
