Tokyo is a huge city which has tons of nice hidden spots to have a walk.
Located in eastern Tokyo, the beautiful promenade along Shinkawa river mirrors the Japanese capital hundred years ago!



Let’s go!

Few minutes walking from Funabori station, you’ll find the Shinkawa river which was used during the Edo period to transport salt in many places of Tokyo.





The riverside has been transformed now into a promenade, with many trees and cute bridges remaining during the Edo period.



Surrounded by the sea and many rivers, Edogawa-ward was a place for popular classes especially fishermen and other sea-related workers.
There’s a mini-museum in the middle of the promenade, called Sakura-kan, with a café, a nice souvenir shop, and a restaurant to take a break.



There’s even people fishing in the river!



There’s almost 3 km of cherry blossom trees around the river.



Come during spring to enjoy the full blossoms enjoy with the local people!
