Hi guys, I am Sugi.

Today I’m gonna talk to you about a spicy and delicious Japanese snack.
To celebrate its 30 years anniversary, most popular spicy snack in Japan - Karamucho sells “Thai Karamucho” (タイのカラムーチョ) in Japan!!
Karamucho that you can find in Thailand is actually spicier than Karamucho in Japan.
However, the brand new “Thai Karamucho” is also quite spicy.

I have introduced to you in previous article, various flavors of Japanese Karamucho.
I also talked about its unique colorful package.
The new “Thai Karamucho” also has good looking package.
You can see how Karamucho pays attention to detail in the package.

Let’s compare Karamucho in Japan and Thailand.
Red package “Thai Karamucho” sold in Japan is more colorful.
Distinctive gold pattern also can be found in top and bottom of the package.
Meanwhile, with its black package, Karamucho sold in Thailand looks more solid.

How about the mascot of Karamucho, the Hii Obaachan?
Surprise, surprise!
Hii Obaachan in “Thai Karamucho” doesn’t wear Japanese traditional clothes!!
She wears Thai one!
What a brilliant attention to detail.

Don’t you think they look similar?
If we compare the taste, the story is different.
Karamucho sold in Thailand and “Thai Karamucho” sold in Japan are spicier than Japanese Karamucho!!

This is zoomed out photo of “Thai Karamucho”.
Take a look at its red powder!

Karamucho is pioneer of spicy snack in Japan.
Karamucho makes snack that suit Thai people taste in Thailand.
Now with “Thai Karamucho” being sold in Japan, it makes Karamucho even more popular.

I usually buy Karamucho in supermarket or convenience store here in Japan.
I wonder where you guys can find it in Thailand?

My friend brought me Karamucho from Thailand.
I tasted it myself and found it spicier than the Japanese one.
If you eat Karamucho please tell me how it tastes.
