Onigiri, rice balls are the most common snack in Japan, but also could be eaten also a light meal.

This is the Japanese equivalent of sandwich and you can find hundreds of toppings.

You can find onigiri everywhere in Japan, but the one from onigiri stores are better and bigger than those you can buy in convini.

Onigiri are usually very cheap around 100 and 200 yen.

To celebrate the autumn, the store was serving two varieties of onigiri with “luxury” products :

oyster onigiri and “matsutake” (a very expensive Japanese mushroom) onigiri.

I bought some to have a light lunch.

The oyster onigiri contained some boiled oyster and was slightly flavored with light soy sauce.

The saltiness and the taste of oyster from Miyagi prefecture was very good!

The “matsutake” onigiri contained only some small pieces of mushroom, since it’s a very expensive ingredients.
The subtle taste of matsutake was delicious!
