Hungry in Osaka and not sure what to eat? Today I will introduce to you an okonomiyaki and yakisoba place favored by Japanese celebrities – Sougetsu (双月). Walking in, you are immediately greeted by a narrow table setting, with signatures of famous celebrities that have dined before proudly adoring the walls.



The reason why the okonomiyaki in Sougetsu is famous is because of its batter. In fact, it is so good that one can only order each meal once. So if you want two serving of okonomiyaki, make sure you say so from the beginning. No more adding after you’re done! Afraid I might not have enough, I ordered two okonomiyaki. I must say, I am glad I did! The flavor was robust, and the fillings very generous. In addition, the house made garlic oil added to the dining experience.



The yakisoba was delicious as well. I requested for it to be cooked in the kitchen and brought out on the pan. The noodles were nice and slightly crispy, while the tartness of the ginger complemented the saltiness well. No wonder Sougetsu is so famous! Do try it out if you can!
