Locals said it as Kuroshio, the current sea flow in the Okinawa’s marine life. So that, schools of whales, sharks, and manta rays should swim in that sea flow, and that’s it why the named it as the main massive tank – Kuroshio tank. The acrylic panel separating the tank interior from the outside is 8.2 meters high, 22.5 meters wide, and 60 centimeters thick. Feeling curious about this massive tank? Let’s sneak a peek!

Beside the first attractive Kuroshio tank, there are a lot of other expectations that you can enjoy in there. One of them is you can see so many cute baby turtles swimming in the tank, with their parents, just like singing “Under the sea”.

Getting attracted with some starfishes? The next interesting thing that you can do is to touch some living starfishes and seashells in there. You can find its area on the first floor, after the entrance.
I have gone to Churaumi aquarium before, and I could say that I felt a little bit scared with this tank. First of all, there is not much light enters to this tank, so it means that the tank is darker than the other. With a dim light background, there are so many sharks showing their teeth swim around and around. Here is some shot that can make me shivering.

You will be able to see dolphin’s show too outside the aquarium, which is held almost everyday. Luckily, you can enjoy the show for free, without any extra additional charges.

There are some reasons why I recommend visiting Okinawa’s Churaumi Aquarium. It will be such an irreplaceable memories with your family there. Don’t forget to bring your camera to take one of the best shot as I have taken before, this one!
