A super-convenient luxury supermarket that’s a souvenir paradise!?

Hey, everyone! Do you ever find it hard picking souvenirs? Today I’m going to be introducing a great store where you can choose from a huge range of different items all in one place! I’m talking about Seijo Ishii—a luxury supermarket with over 60 (!) branches in Tokyo alone. What’s also great is that you can find branches inside places like Tokyo Station, Shinjuku Station, and Roppongi Hills, making them easy to stop by at in between sightseeing trips.

There's a huge range of items available--from seasonings to tea to sweets--and what's more, everything is of the highest quality! Another thing that’s great is that it’s possible to buy items from all across Japan, right here in Tokyo! For instance...

(Tororo Kombu (shredded kombu) from Okuikaiseido, a company established in 1871.)
Okuikaiseido is purveyor to both the Eihei-ji and Soji-ji temples, and this kombu is also used at famous traditional Japanese restaurants across the country. There’s a range of other products available—regular kombu, kombu candies—but this soft tororo kombu goes great with osuimono soups as well as with pasta or rice, or even spread on toast!
If you’ve been meaning to pick up some tea during your trip to Japan, how about this?

(Organic Uji Matcha Tea from Morihan, a company established during the Tempou era (1830-1844.))
This powdered organic matcha tea can be prepared simply by adding boiling water, or it can be made into matcha au lait! A single pack is small and light, so it’s easy to carry several to give as gifts to different people!
There are also plenty of candies and confectioneries available!

(Amazakeame candies from Matsuya Seika, which come in a cloth pouch.)
These amazakeame soft candies are delicious, and have a wonderful, gentle aroma and taste. They’re individually wrapped, so are great for handing out as mini-souvenirs! There are lots more wonderful candies and confectioneries available, too!

(Left: Chigiri Kusamochi from Seiki, which were awarded the gold prize at the National Confectionery Exposition. These are great as they’re also individually wrapped! Right: Komeichidai Uni from Maruhiko Seika. These are very addictive!)
Some of the products described above aren’t available at all the branches, but you’re bound to come across other great products! Why not stop by at a Seijo Ishii? I’m sure you’ll find something you like!
