It’s simple to enjoy a walk around Kyoto in a kimono if you use a kimono rental set that includes fitting and hair arrangement services.

After making a reservation and visiting the shop, first you choose the kimono that you like.
It’s fun being spoiled by the wide selection of kimono that you can choose.
After you select your kimono, the friendly ladies working at the shop will skillfully fit the kimono and arrange your hair.
The entire process takes about one hour after arriving at the shop.

The shop will also lend out a small accessory to match the hair arrangement, so you don’t need to bring anything with you to the shop.

There are no time limitations between 10:00 to 18:00, so one advantage of this service is that it allows you to walk leisurely through the streets of Kyoto while wearing a kimono.
We visited the Kiyomizu Temple that was close to the rental shop, and then enjoyed Japanese sweets at a cafe and took pictures with cherry blossoms in full bloom in the back.

A lot of people think that it requires special knowledge to put on a kimono, that it can cause pressure on the body and feel tight, or that you have to worry about the kimono coming loose.
However, after spending half a day leisurely wearing a kimono, I was surprised that it didn’t feel tight at all and that the kimono did not come loose.
I guess this was thanks to amazing techniques employed by the experienced staff members at the shop!

It is sure to be an unforgettable experience.
