You’re a panda lover? You want to be surrounded by pandas? You want to eat panda- themed food?
There’s a place for that in Asagaya: Panda Café.
Panda Café is located just 3 minutes walking from the south exit of Asagaya station in western Tokyo, on the big street called Namiki-dori.
Just look for the panda plate and the panda umbrella sticked on the window.
Let’s have a look inside.
Wow, there are pandas absolutely everywhere!
We sat at a table with a panda-shaped electric guitar?!
And next to the guitar, a panda plush costumed like an old-style drunken Japanese dad with his necktie around the head.
Let’s order some food, in a panda menu for sure!
Here is a “panda omurice”, a creamy omelette filled with chicken and mushroom tomato rice, then topped with mozzarella cheese and a panda head drawn with ketchup.
There’s also white sauce inside. The taste is very mild as a lot of families with children are coming to Panda Cafe.
And here is “panda taco rice”. Taco rice is the Japanese adaptation of the tex-mex food, tacos.
Tacos ingredients, minced meat, salsa, salad, tomato and cheese are put on top of a plate or a bowl of white rice.
Here is the panda version… but the cheese panda melts a little and looks quite sad.
You can have food or drinks in the cafe, but you can also do some panda shopping.
The owners selected tons of different things with panda.
For example, those panda sneakers are quite cheap and so cute.
There’s plenty of stationery like pens, stickers, memo pads, but also socks.
On the other side of the shop, there’s panda jewellry with small and cute accessories like bracelets, necklaces or rings.
The owners also made some special panda café gifts and products like Panda cafe design handkerchiefs, tenugui, memo pad or candies.
If you visit Asagaya, just stop in Panda Cafe to have a lunch, a drink or eat some cakes!
