Days Before the SAKURA Blooms!

※This article was published at April 2015.※

I went to a nearby Garden in Mitaka (West Side of Tokyo).
And this is what I saw.

SAKURA…. not fully bloomed yet.
The spring has sprung but here it is.

Before spring, the trees do not have any leaves at all, but as soon as the weather gets warmer, it blooms beautifully.

In Japan, there is a word called...
見頃(みごろ)Migoro
If you look for it on the dictionary the meaning will be “Best Time to See”
Well, when it comes to spring, Japanese usually will say…
桜の見頃はいつですか。Sakura no migoro wa itsu desuka?
It simply means “When is the best time to see the sakura?”

Right now, everyone is waiting for this moment.
Even in the weather forecast, they will show you when the migoro is in each prefecture.
