Hi all!
Today I would like to introduce you to one of Japanese women’s obsession: their eye-lids. It is something we usually don’t look at that much in other countries, but in Japan, it is very important whether one’s eyelids are single or double-edged.
Double-edged are a symbol of beauty and are very praised in Japan.
To the point where solutions other than surgery are blooming in Japan to develop “futae mabuta”!
This is one example, where using a sort of eye tape changes the eyelid shaped from single to double-edged.
Just an invisible tape for phenomenal results!
And the result is...
Before: Single-edged eyelid
After: Double-edged eyelids with a clear straight line!
Note: The make-up comes separately!
So what brought this to Japan?
A simple theory would be the democratization of foreign fashion in Japan - all fashion magazines feature foreign models who naturally have double-edged eyelids, creating a fascination for it!
What do you think about this habit? I’m really curious to know!
Personally, I’d never judge someone’s beauty by the shape of their eyes…
