Akihabara is the world’s center of Otaku culture, from Video games to Anime, Idol goods and other collectibles. Today, we went to Akihabara’s Don Quixote, where me made a rather interesting discovery.
First, a small background check on Don Quixote. Don Quixote is a very popular store chain among young people, where you can literally find everything. And by everything, we mean EVERYTHING.
Are there many stores where you can buy groceries, luxury bags, electronics, games or furniture all in the same place?
Well, this sums up Don Quixote. Once in the store, you enter a new dimension of shopping, where you have to find you way through a maze of products.
The Don Quixote located in Akihabara adapted itself to the local color and is more otaku-oriented.
In the same building, you can find on the 8th floor the AKB official theater, where the most popular idol Group in Japan comes to perform. Good luck finding tickets!
On the 5th floor is located one of the oldest Maid Cafes in Tokyo, in additional to the official AKB goods shop.
However, to all pop culture lovers, we recommend the Color’s Yellow shop!
Located on the 1st floor, Color’s Yellow is a very special beauty salon.This salon lets you customize your nails in a very special way, decorating them to your favorite anime character. Here is a sample!
