Ginza Kazuya is a sweets shop located in Yurakucho nearby the Tokyo station. The owner of this sweets shop used to work as a chef of traditional Japanese cuisine, he also worked hard to invent new kind of wagashi through a trial and error process. After this process, he created wagashi called “Ren” and this is the most famous wagashi from the shop. Even though this place is located in a small hidden hole of Yurakucho, many people make a reservation to buy the sweets. Ren is super popular that you need to pre-order at least one month ahead in order to buy it. People are in love with its tenderness and the delicate texture of Ren.
Aono Souhonpo, Roppongi

Aono Souhonpo is a long established sweets shop that has been in the business since 1856. They use high quality ingredients such as premium quality red beans from Hokkaido and Wasanbontou, refined Japanese sugar from Sanuki. They have flavorful mochi and other raw sweets though they also sell some sweets with longer expiration date thus, wagashi from this shop can be a good alternative option for souvenir to your family and friends.
Ozasa, Kichijoji

Ozasa is the famous shop in Kichijoji. They are famous for Yokan, sweet jellied made from red bean paste. They only make 150 pieces daily and people form a line from the early in the morning to buy the Yokan. Some people even start lining up at 4 in the morning! They make Yokan and other items from high quality ingredients and are sold in affordable price. If you don’t want to stand in line to buy them, they have other sweets also available such as the original bite-size monaka, bean-jam wafers.
Suikoudou, Hatchobori

The last one is Suikoudou located in Hatchobori by the Sumida River. They are also long established sweets shop that has been in business for 80 years. They are famous for Ichigo Daihuku, a mochi with sweet red beans paste and strawberry inside. Ichigo Daihuku is only available on weekday and Saturday. You can even make a pre-order starting from 1 piece!
