In Japan, foods are not only just human feeds but its also more than that; it’s something rituals. They appear far beyond than just a food. Every food in Japan tells herself, its hygiene, healthy, delicious and of course perform in artistic ways. Japanese value their foods with a specific cultural manner; they way to make, to eat and of course they way to do ritually as well. The pray of “Itada kimasu and gochicho sama deshita”, sounding when they eat noodles, drink teas, and using chopstick, all of that are ways of Japanese live on foods.
Food shows are one of the most interesting program to see and read as well as to talk in Japanese society more than in Indonesia. But currently Indonesia starts liking food topics.
The high values of Japanese on foods have created food cook creativities and industries growing very fast in all over the world. Its surprising phenomenon in Indonesia that Japanese foods are vary and massive in every city found; susi and sashimi are well known foods for young Indonesian and now ramens too.
My experiences during visiting Japan with other Indonesian found very interesting on food live. If Indonesian like to have buffet style maybe because Indonesian come from different ethics and islands while in Japan is in the contrary. It seems to serve the same foods, drink and with also the same yukata to more that 50 people are normal scene.
Any way what the most interesting thing on food in Japan is about the price. The same food you buy in super market, in any type of restaurant, in any type of services is big different prices.
