Tokyo-eki Ichibanga,i literary means “First Avenue Tokyo Station”, is a shopping area inside of Tokyo Station. There you can find a variety of shops and restaurants. The entire area is divided by section though there are four popular areas; Tokyo Okashi Land with confectionery shops, Tokyo Ramen Street with Ramen noodle shops, Tokyo Character Street with TV character goods stores, and Tokyo Me+ with souvenir shops.

Tokyo Okashi Land is the section with concept stores from leading confectionery companies. There are three main stores in the section. Calbee Plus, Glico-ya Kichen, and Morinaga Okashina Okashiya san. At Calbee Plus, you can enjoy freshly made potato chips and poteriko, french fries inspired from their leading item, jagariko. At Glico-ya Kichen, you can see their confectionery making process like how their popular almond chocolate are made. In the Morinaga’s section, you can get sweets inspired by their popular items like Choco Ball and Dars.

Tokyo Ramen Street is the section all popular ramen shops gathered. They currently have 8 shops inside of the section. Our recommendation is a vegan ramen shop called Sorairo Nippon. Their ramen does not contain any meats, egg, and dairy products though their ramen is flavorful and filly that you don’t realize they don’t put any meats in a ramen. Thus even if you cannot eat regular ramen because of the religious reason, you should try their veggie soba and other vegan ramen. Their veggie soba has a deep aroma of vegetables inside of the soup that worth try.

Tokyo Character Street has wide selections of stores featuring famous anime and manga such as Hello Kitty shop, Rilakkuma store, Kapiparasan shop and more. In JUMP Shop, you can get goods of the leading comic magazine’s stories such as Dragon Ball Z and One Piece. They also have shops featuring TV companies where you can find products of Draemon and Chibimaruko-chan.

Tokyo Me+ is there you should go while you are looking for souvenirs for your friends and family back home. There you can find not only the regular souvenirs but also many sweets and many food items. One of our recommendation is a rolled cake shop called Arinco Tokyo Station. Their rolled cake only uses egg while in their cake thus mily but chewy flavourful roll cake. You cannot bring back home because the expiration date of each item is not long enough.
