There is the "Wada Family House" that is said to have been built in the Edo period in Ogimachi Village, and it is designated as an important cultural property of the country. It is said to have been the house of a headman of the Edo period and is characterized by being larger than the other houses.

Accessibility from Takayama to Shirakawa-go’s Ogimachi Village
You can get from Takayama to Shirakawa-go's Ogimachi Village is about an hour by bus. If you are coming from Tokyo, bus or train is recommended.
8 hours by bus from Tokyo to Toyama, then Shirakawa-go. You can arrive for about 4200 yen. By train, go from Tokyo to Toyama by Shinkansen, and from Toyama to Shirakawa-go by bus. Transportation costs will be around 15,000 yen, but it takes around 3 hours, so it's recommended for people who want ease of travel. (As of April 2019)
