Have you ever thought about studying in Japan?
There are more foreigners studying in Japan. They study Japanese, experience life and travelling in Japan. However, when you plan to study in Japan, you may feel uneasy. You may also be wondering where to get information on studying abroad.
For those who are interested in studying in Japan, we have interviewed foreign students at ISI Japanese Language School. You can learn from their experience!
ISI Japanese Language School is a Japanese language school that’s located in Japan with foreign students from over 50 different countries. During the interview, we interviewed Mr. Debo and Mr. Charles who are employed and working in social sectors. So, if you haven’t made up your mind to study abroad in Japan, read through this interview session that we had.
Q1: Before we begin, please introduce yourself
D: I'm Debo, 28 years old, and it’s been a year and 8 months since I arrived in Japan.
C: My name is Charles, 25 years old, I have been in Japan for 1 year and 2 months.
Q2: Why did you come to Tokyo, Japan?
D: The serious and hardworking attitude of Japanese people really impressed me. Actually, I have always dreamed of a time when I will study abroad in Japan during my secondary school days. Therefore, after I got employed and had enough money, I decided to quit my job and pursue my dream to study abroad in Japan.
C: Before coming to Japan, I had enrolled for a Japanese language course in Hong Kong which was once in a week, and I had been consistent for approximately 6 months. However, due to the learning speed that was very slow, I thought it would be better for me to live locally in Japan in order to study the Japanese language more efficiently and at a good speed.
Q3: Why did you go for ISI?
D: The location of the institute is good, and there is a great balance of the population of foreign students. Besides studying Japanese language, I managed to make friends with foreign students from various countries.
C: Being in the design industry, I was first attracted by the brochure of the institute introduction. Besides the location which is good (Ikebukuro). The most important reason is that courses are taught to assist us in getting a job. There are also courses such as interview training, conversation, etc.
Q4: What are the characteristics of this institute?
D: There are great lecturers that gives lecture and show good examples. Also, there are lots of homework during beginner level, while during intermediate level there are more case study which focuses on subject that is out of our textbooks.
C: There are only about 10 people in a class. Due to this, the lesson is interesting. During grammar learning, the lecturer has shown us lots of sentence examples. Also, since the lesson is taught in Japanese Language, I feel that the learning speed is fast.

Q5: Is there any interesting experience in your daily life?
D: First snow in Tokyo on 22nd January 2018! I made a snowman on the day itself.
C: Since I love photography, I took photos of nature.
Q6: Finally, please give a piece of advice for those who are considering whether to study abroad in Japan.
D: ISI is a wonderful school. Besides focus on studying, you can also experience different diverse cultures out here.
C: It is not difficult once you take your first step. Try it! You can do it!
